Leading elearning company, Sponge, has been shortlisted as a finalist for International Trade Business of the Year in the Plymouth Herald Business Awards, 2015.

The award aims to highlight the vital role international trade plays in the city’s economy, and recognise businesses that have made significant overseas sales.

“By its very nature, elearning crosses borders allowing large businesses to train their staff around the world.

“We have clients in Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy and the USA, and we serve learners in more than 120 countries through our workplace learning management system.

“It is great to be shortlisted in such a competitive category, and to help celebrate Plymouth’s growing strength in international trade and business.”
“We’re a global company based in Plymouth, supporting international organisations by providing tailored elearning courses and campaigns.

Sponge is based at Plymouth Science Park and is one of the fastest growing companies on the site with more than 50 employees and a turnover of more than £2 million per annum.

Its international clients include GlaxoSmithKline, GKN Aerospace, Toyota and the United Nations.

The Herald's Business Editor, William Telford said:

"Once again we were inundated with entries for the awards, and in addition the standard of submissions was remarkably high this year, so every business nominated has already done extremely well.”
