Workplace learning in 2025

The session called Back to the future! An invitation to workplace learning in 2025 takes place in Theatre 2 from 1.15pm to 1.45pm on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at Olympia, London.

“If you think the current pace of change in the workplace is fast, it’s about to accelerate to light speed as emerging technologies impact on the way we interact with the world around us. It’s exciting and empowering, but it can also seem daunting,” said Kate Pasterfield.

“I’ll be guiding you through the new technology landscape, examining the implications for learning in the workplace and offering a path to finding the innovations that will be of most value to your organisation. Be prepared to challenge your assumptions about learning technologies, question your role in the new workplace and have a bit of fun along the way.”

The seminar is free for anyone attending the exhibition or conference. Attendees will discover:

  • How the workplace will change by 2025
  • Which emerging technologies to watch and why
  • What impact new technology will have on learning in 2025
  • Where new technology will add the most value to learning
  • Why things will change for L&D and how to stay ahead

Kate Pasterfield is the gold winner of Learning Technologies Designer of the Year at the Learning Technologies Awards and bronze winner of Learning Professional of the Year at the Learning Awards.

The Summer Forum brings together thousands of learning professionals to develop key themes from February's Learning Technologies exhibition and conference.

As part of the event, Sponge will be giving people the chance to try a mobile virtual reality learning experience at Stand 13 in the main Exhibition Hall.

The demonstration will help professionals better understand how to align mobile VR to real world business challenges.

Visitors to the stand can also take away a complimentary set of VR cardboard goggles.

Sponge’s 2017 charity appeal to give children in poverty access to free elearning will continue at the Summer Forum.

The #shareyoursponge campaign supports the work of the e-learning for kids foundation, which provides high-quality online lessons free to primary school children in developing and underprivileged communities around the world.

By picking up a free sponge at Stand 13 and sharing a photo on Twitter or Instagram, using the hashtag #shareyoursponge, people can unlock a donation for the charity.

Founder and Chairman of e-learning for kids, Nick Van Dam, said: “We are thrilled to be partnering with Sponge on this unique fundraising campaign. As well as the financial donation, it’s a great way to raise awareness about our foundation and the free digital lessons we provide globally.”
